about Hi,My name is Shaun Lindow, and I am a full-time freelance illustrator living in Utah. Creating fantasy and science fiction artwork for a living has been a life-long asperation of mine, and working as an illustrator for my various clients over the past four years has been nothing short of a dream come true.I was born in 1982, and have been drawing and sculpting for as long as I can remember. Most my work is now created digitally, a process which is significantly faster and more efficient than traditional methods. After serving four years in the Navy, I moved back to Utah where I worked as the lead graphic designer at E. Excel Intertantional, and later an advertisement artist for PDC Pages. On August 2008, I ventured out on my own for a freelance illustration career.I am currently available for illustration, concept art, and comic book development. F.A.Q.How long will you take to respond to my email?I check my email twice a day, and usually respond to all emails within 24 hours.What do you use to create your art?For hardware, I use a Cintiq 21UX. I can't recommend it enough if you are seriously considering a career in digital art.For software, I use Photoshop almost exclusively. I will occasionally use Corel Painter, Sketchbook Pro, Maya and Zbrush for the things Photoshop just can't do.Can you give me any advice on how to "break into" the industry?Never stop practicing, especially in the areas you are weakest. Don't be shy about emailing publishers and art directors, but always be polite. When approaching a potential employer, try and figure out what problem you can solve with your art rather than just fishing for a commission.Will you draw my character / illustrate my book / design my logo for free?Unfortunately, I do not do any work for free at this time.So what do you charge?As every project is different, I can't have set prices. Once I have the details of the project, I am pretty good at figuring how long it will take me, and therefore how much I need to charge.What sort of artwork do you do?I am primarily an illustrator, and also have experience as a concept artist, storyboard artist, and comic book artist.
